Super Stuffed Burger Recipe

Best done on the BBQ! Beef, bison, pork, turkey or chicken burgers all make wonderful choices.

 

Ingredients
1 lb ground meat, free-range whenever possible
1 egg
1 tsp mustard (regular or Dijon)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, finely grated
1 clove garlic, minced
1⁄2 tsp salt
1⁄2 tsp pepper

1 bell pepper “bun” per person
spinach, tomato and avocado

 

Filling Options
The sky is the limit here, use your imagination and let your taste buds soar! Think Asian, Mexican or Caribbean for new flavor combinations. Our go to is aged cheddar with finely chopped jalepeno stuffed beef burgers.

 

Burger Directions
Crumble meet in a bowl using your hands or a fork
Whisk egg in a bowl and mix in the rest of the ingredients, pour on to meat
Gently mix, form into half-sized patties
Add your favorite filling to the center of one patty, top with the second patty and the edges together to create 1 beautiful burger
Whenever possible use a stuffed hamburger press to create the perfect stuffed burger shape!
Place burgers on the grill and cook until the meat is no longer pink, thermometer should read 160F for beef

 

Bun Directions
Take bell pepper, cut in half, clean of the stems and seeds
Brush both sides with olive oil
Season gently with salt and freshly ground black pepper
Place skin side down on hot grill, until skin blisters and peppers soften (3-8 minutes approximately)
Turn peppers and grill until inner side is done (about half the time of the skin side, 2-4 minutes)

 

Burger Construction
Use 1/2 bell pepper for the bottom “bun”
Add your beautifully cooked hamburger
Garnish with spinach, tomato, avocado slices
Use other half of the bell pepper for the top “bun”

Remember the napkins!!!
